Our Firm

Bokhaut Chartered Professional Accountant Inc. is a boutique public accounting practice that is licensed to practice in Manitoba, Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario.  The firm has specific expertise and experience in catering to the needs of physicians, medical corporations, and medical clinics. This has been the focus of the firm since 1998.

The firm currently services the needs of over 1,000 physicians.

The firm believes that physicians have specific needs far beyond Financial Statement preparation, tax return preparation and tax planning.

We feel that physicians want to know following:

That they have been provided with comprehensive, effective tax planning which will minimize their tax obligations.

That the tax planning strategies employed are well conceived and within regulatory deadlines.  This provides them with the comfort that the chance of further verification by Canada Revenue Agency is minimized; and in the case of further verification, that the strategies are defendable and the chance of reassessment and penalties is minimized.

That to the extent possible, the administrative burden related to their taxes and finances is diverted to the physicians's accountant so that they can focus their own free time on their families and personal interests.

That they understand the tax strategies employed on their behalf, and are cognizant of the general tax issues related to their circumstances so they can be a better ‘historian’ to their accountant.

Prior to establishing Bokhaut Chartered Professional Accountant Inc in 1994, Brad Bokhaut was employed as a student-in-accounts with KPMG and upon qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1990 joined the tax group of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Brad Bokhaut understands that busy physicians have complex financial and tax affairs and appreciate the services of a chief financial officer – someone familiar with and knowledgeable enough to coordinate all their financial needs. He has well established relationships with other professionals – lawyers, bankers, financial advisors, insurance representatives and others who also have significant experience servicing physicians, and accounting staff at various hospitals and medical clinics, and communicates with them directly.

Brad Bokhaut is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars on financial and taxation topics relating to physicians and medical clinics, sponsored by organizations including M.D. Management, the Law Society of Manitoba, the University of Manitoba Faculty of Medicine Continuing Professional Development, PARIM, chartered banks and investment advisors, various medical clinics and physician resident groups and the radio station CJOB.
